| ABOUT US Cadillac Squares were formed with the encouragement of several members of CCCD, on Thursday, June 11, 1992. The founding group of the Cadillac Squares was composed of both gay and non- gay people interested in forming a group welcoming square dancers of all types regardless of age, race, gender or sexual bias. These founding members sentiments are still held today. The Cadillac Squares welcomes all dancers. The Cadillac Squares became members of the International Association of Gay Square Dance Clubs (I.A.G.S.D.C.) in 1992 at the Seattle Convention. On May 6, 1993 the Cadillac Squares had their first beginner/mainstream graduating class. After many years of dancing at the Other Side Lounge, the Cadillac Squares are currently dancing Thursday nights at Diamond Jim’s Saloon. (Diamond Jim's Saloon) Dancing starts at 7:00 p.m. with A level dancing and continuing on until 10:00 p.m. with all levels. Yearly the Cadillac Squares hold a fly-in, a weekend of square dancing. Fly -ins are an opportunity for square dancers from all over to come and dance. Please see our link to our calendar of events for our most up to date information regarding the upcoming fly-in. Visit our photo link to see some pictures of the past Cadillac Square’s events. Currently we schedule the fly-in early August. |
